The Value of Online Art Galleries
As an artist, I really have to do everything that I can to try to publicize myself and get known, or else there is simply no chance of getting that all important break. The fact is that there are a lot of different things that you can do to get attention for your art, but not all of them are really going to help you all that much.

Studying African American Art

One of the biggest icons of African American art is Kadir Nelson. This accomplished artist started drawing when he was only three years old.

His early interest in the creative process grew as he did until he reached adulthood. Now Kadir Nelson is a driving force in the African American art scene today.

Nelson’s artistic abilities were apparent at a very young age. He could draw before he could write.

My Favorite Australian Artists
When I was a teenager I was a huge fan of the eighties hair bands. I can admit that comfortably because I have no interest in them any longer. I know there are a lot of people that are my age that still listen to these bands, but I am not one of them.

As far as I am concerned that scene was played out a long time ago, and I would rather listen to Lawrence Welk than to list to hair metal.

Who is Your Favorite Animation Character
Cartoons and animated films are my favorite means of entertainment. I grew up watching Disney movies and I'd rush home from school to see my favorite animation character on TV.

Animation is much more sophisticated now of course, and painstaking hand drawing has given way to computer aided images. I like everything, from the lush colors of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to the latest state of the art Pixar creation.

Lessons in the Culinary Arts
Making meals and being a cook is two different things. For years, I used to slavishly follow recipes but then I realized that isn't what cooking is about.

The culinary arts is knowing about blending ingredients and using different cooking methods. I still collect recipes but I can do my own experimenting. If I don't have ingredients, I know how to adapt with substitutes.

Expressing Ourselves with Art Projects
Creativity is one of the very finest traits that we humans possess, and art stands at the pinnacle. Whether it be kid's Christmas art projects, a Halloween bat art project, or celebrated ancient Greece art projects, art is one the greatest definers of culture. Art is an important means of expression.

Some people say that this need is what separates us from the animals. Most people do art projects from elementary school, learning about shape, texture and color. Parents proudly put their efforts on the wall or go into school to see their achievements.

The Flexibility of Fine Art Posters
I have to admit that I'm not very big on interior design or home decorating.  I mean, I don't have the most expensive furniture, my fabrics and colors aren't coordinated, and I don't make the best use of space.  I think it's safe to say you won't be seeing any pictures of my place in a "Better Homes & Garden" photo shoot anytime soon!

Nevertheless, I believe that I do one thing well:  my walls.  To me, there's nothing more depressing than a home with bare walls, so I go out of my way to make sure that mine are covered with interesting things to look at.  Some of my favorite wall hangings are the framed fine art posters that I've purchased over the years.

Is The Art Institute Right For You
It’s really too bad you can’t look into the future to see your mistakes before you make them. Although, to be fair, many of us wouldn’t change anything because even when things go wrong, you may end up on an even better path than where you started out to go.

We only have one chance at this life we live, and there’s no possible way to go through life making the best decision at every turn. One of the best and worst things I ever did was go to the Art Institute for my education.

The Life and Times of Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams is one of the giants in the world of photography. He truly was the consummate photographer of wildlife and natural landscapes. He is probably best known for his majestic sweeping views of Yosemite National Park.

He was, at heart, a lover of capturing the tiny details of nature to perfection. Ansel Adams was a pioneer in environmental protection, even predating the National Parks, spearheading many projects for the fledgling Sierra Club as an environmental activist. What secrets made him so influential?

To offer a quick biography of Ansel Adams, he was born in San Francisco in 1902 where he spent his childhood steeped in the natural beauty of the area. It was there that his photographic vision was born. At the age of 14, he first visited Yosemite, and the experience defined his lifelong vocation.
